About Me
I’m Olivia, a user experience designer. While part of my heart will always be with my first field of study, Archaeology, I found I much prefer solving the problems of the living to pondering the mysteries of the dead. While the subject of my inquiry may have changed, I highly value anthropological research methodologies and seek to bring that rigor to all my user research. I consider it a privilege to not only get to ask ‘why’ and receive an answer, but also to be part of making something of actual value to someone.
My Process
I am very much a follower of the 'double diamond' approach. I’ve encountered this design thinking framework branded in many different ways, from ‘discover, define, develop, deliver’ to my most recent experience of ‘Discovery and Framing’ by Pivotal Labs. However, the fundamental human-centered principle always remains the same. Periods of wide exploration followed by strategically narrowing one’s focus.
After the double diamond, my development process focuses on iteration and refinement based on feedback, in a hope to deliver the best solution possible. This site contains design thinking case studies as well as examples of illustration and typography. I hope you enjoy!
